Bickram Ghosh

Bickram Ghosh is a renowned tabla artist from India. He began his training under the guidance of his parents Pandit Shankar Ghosh and Sanjukta Ghosh, and also received further training in Carnatic percussion under Pandit S Sekhar. Ghosh is known to practice a variety of genres, ranging from Hindustani classical, fusion, rock, new-age and film. However his works are greatly influenced by thumri and khayal of the Patiala gharana. Ghosh has performed at shows in India and overseas, and has accompanied renowned musicians including Pandit Ravi Shankar. He is a recipient of the prestigious Banga Bhushan award, the Sangeet Mahasamman, and four GIMA Awards. He is a founding member of the band Rhythmscape.
