Jayateerth Mevundi

Jayateerth Mevundi is a classical vocalist from India, a torchbearer of the Kirana Gharana. He began his initial training under the guidance of his mother and formally trained under Pandit Arjunsa Nakod and Pandit Shripati Paadegar. Mevundi’s performances are marked by the ease and facility of his singing style. He is known to sing complex taan patterns effortlessly. Muvendi has performed at shows in India and overseas, and is a recipient of the ‘Young Maestro in Music’ by the President of India – Dr. A P J Abdul Kalaam, Pandit Jasraj Gourav Puraskar, Pandit Basavraj Rajguru Puraskar and the Aditya Birla Sangeet Kala Kiran.
