  • Kumar Bose

    Bose was born in Kolkata to a distinguished musical family. His first teacher was his father, Bishwanth Bose who taught his son to play his first beat of rhythm. After the latter's untimely death he was taught by Kishan Maharaj. He currently conducts private lessons in the style of his mentors. His high profile students includes the likes of the Mumbai-based tabla player Shyama Prasad Das. He has a long list of career achievements, such as receiving the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2007.

  • Kumar Mardur

    Kumar Madur is an Indian classical vocalist of Dharwad traditions. He began his training under the guidance of his father, Pandit Somanath Madur, a renowned Hindustani classical vocalist of Kirana and Gwalior Gharana, and continued his training under Dr. Puttaraj Gavai, Dr. Basavaraj Rajguru and Dr. Mallikarjun Mansur. He is currently receiving further guidance under Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar. Mardur has toured extensively in India and abroad and is a recipient of Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, Padma Vibhushan Dr. Mallikarjun Mansur Rashtreeya Yuva Puraskar, Padma Vibhushan Pandit Mallikarjun Mansur Memorial National Trust, Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande Memorial Yuva Kalakar Puraskar, amongst others. He is currently a Junior Guru at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy.

  • Kushal Das

    Kushal Das is a noted North-Indian sitar and surbahar artist. He was born into a family of musicians in Kolkata – his grandfather, Bimal Chandra Das, was a renowned esraj player and his father, Sailen Das, and uncle, Santanu Das, are also highly reputed sitar players. Das began his training under the guidance of his uncle and father. He later continued his formal training from Pandit Ajoy Sinha Roy, Pandit Manas Chakraborty, Pandit Ramkrishna Basu and Pandit Sanjoy Banerjee. Das has a profound knowledge of music and raga improvisation and is a recipient of the Sangeet Visharad (Gold Medal) from Pracheen Kala Kendra of Chandigarh and Sur-Mani Award from Sur-Singar-Samsad of Mumbai. He participated in most of the major music festivals in India and has toured overseas. Das is a Guru at the Bengal Parampara Sangeetalay in Dhaka.

  • L Subramaniam

    Dr. L Subramaniam is an internationally acclaimed violinist from India. He began his training under the guidance of his father Professor V Lakshminarayana and today, apart from a successful career as a renowned performer, Subramaniam is also known as a composer and conductor – he has written music for orchestras, ballets, as well as Hollywood films. He has toured extensively in India and abroad, and has accompanied numerous artists including K V Narayaswamy, Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer,Dr. Balamurali Krishna, amongst many others. Subramaniam’s contribution to music is acknowledged through a sea of awards. He is a recipient of Padma Shri; Padma Bhushan; a Grammy Nomination; D. Litt. Honoris Causa of ITM University; Lifetime Achievement Award, Limca Book of Records; GIMA (Best Carnatic Instrumental Album – Innovations), Global Indian Music Academy; Uttam Vag Geykar Jialal Vasant Award, Big Star IMA Award; Honorary Doctorate, Bangalore University; Creative Music Award, Sangeet Natak Akademi; Best Western Instrumentalist, IIT Madras; President's Award for Best Violinist, All India Radio; to name a few.

  • M Moniruzzaman

    M Moniruzzaman began his training under the guidance of his father, Ustad Abdur Rahman, a renowned flautist who played a key role in establishing the use of bansi in modern music. Apart from playing the flute, Monir is also a skilled practitioner of several other wind instruments that include the bansi, silver flute, saxophone, supra-saxophone, recorder and the Chinese flute. He enjoys experimenting with fusion music and performs both on solo recitals and as an accompaniment for various classical or folk vocalists. Monir has also released three solo albums to date – Shomokal, Egaro and Destination.

  • Madhavi Mudgal

    Madhavi Mudgal is a renowned dancer from India, an illustrious exponent of the Odissi tradition. She is the daughter of the late Professor Vinay Chandra Maudgalya, the founder of Gandharva Mahavidyalaya; one of the notable dance schools for Hindustani music and classical dance in New Delhi. Mudgal began her training under the guidance of Guru Harekrishna Behera and continued her training under Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra. Today, Mudgal is widely acclaimed for her deep insight into the art of choreography and her commitment to train and encourage new dancers to finer nuances of Odissi. She has toured extensively in both India and abroad, and is a recipient of the Padma Shri, Grande Medaille dela Ville by the city of Paris, the Sanskriti Award, Central Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, Delhi Government’s Parishad Samman, Nritya Choodamani, and the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the Government of France.

  • Malavika Sarukkai

    Malavika Sarukkai is an acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer, which is an ancient form of classical dance in India, and the recipient of many awards. She started training under Guru K. Kalyanasundaram Pillai of the Thanjavur School and Guru Rajaratnam of the Vazhuvoor School. She has also studied ‘abhinaya’ under Guru Kalanidhi Narayanan, and Odissi dance under Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra and Guru Ramani Ranjan Jena. Malavika's has captivated audiences worldwide with her traditional yet contemporary dancing style and her extraordinary artistry was featured in the BBC/WNET television documentary “Dancing”, a 9-hour series on world dance. The Government of India has also made a film on her life and work called “Samarpanam”. In recognition of her interpretation and choreography, the Indian Department of Culture has given Malavika senior fellowships and grants.

  • Manikuntala Bhowmik

    Manikuntala Bhowmik is a vocalist from India. She trained under the guidance of Alok Kumar Chattopadhyaya, Ustad Yunus Hussain Khan, Pandit Vinaya Chandra Maudgalya, and Pandit Vinod Kumar. Bhowmik has performed at shows in India and abroad.
