4th day of BCMF 2016 Pt Ajoy Chakrabarty captivates audience
An amazing Khayal rendition by Pandit Ajay Chakrabarty kept the audience on their seats till the early hours of the morning on the fourth day of this year’s Bengal Classical Music Festival (BCMF) 2016.
He performed Raga Bilaskhani Todi, alongside raga Kuntala Varali and finishing with a bhajan in Raga Bhairabi. The festival memento was handed over to the artists by Abul Khair, Chairman of Bengal Foundation.
Performances on the fourth day included a dance recital by Munmun Ahmed and her troupe, tabla by Nilesh Ranadive, Khayal by Jayateerth Mevundi, and another tabla rendition by two renowned artists: Pandits Yogesh Samsi and Subhankar Banerjee, a vocal rendition by Carnatic singer duo Ranjani and Gayatri and Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar with his ethereal sarod rendition.
