Amjad Ali Khan

Amjad Ali Khan is an Indian classical musician who plays the sarod. He was born to the illustrious Bangash lineage rooted in the Senia Bangash School of music. With his father as his guru, Khan was seven when he gave his first recital of the sarod and twelve when he performed his first concert; he became a nationally known celebrity in India within three years of the concert. In addition to his extensive international collaborations, he has received many awards over the course of his distinguished career; one of them being the Padma Vibhushan, the highest civilian honour awarded by the government of India. His sons, Amaan Ali Khan and Ayaan Ali Khan, are also well known names in the music scene.
