Arshad Ali Khan

Arshad Ali, the grandson of the legendary sarangi maestro late Padmashree Ustad Shakoor Khan, joined ITC Sangeet Research Academy in 1988, at the age of 6. Born in the family of Kirana Gharana musicians, he has been receiving extensive taalim from his uncles, ITC Sangeet Research Academy Guru, Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan and Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan. Winner of the Jadu Bhatta Puraskar in 2002 and the ‘Best Young Talent of the Year’ by Rasa and Melting Pot Productions in 2011, Arshad has performed in many prestigious festivals in India and abroad. In July 2009, he became a musician-scholar of the Academy and as of June 2012 he became a Musician Tutor of ITC Sangeet Research Academy.
