Kaushiki Chakrabarty

Daughter of the world-renowned vocalist Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty, Kaushiki Chakrabarty was initiated into vocal music by her mother, Chandana Chakrabarty. Her formal taalim began at the age of seven when she became a student of Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh. Later, as a scholar of the ITC–Sangeet Research Academy, between November 1992 and June 2004, she was groomed by her father. Her outstanding performances have fetched her many awards – Jadu Bhatta Award; Outstanding Young Person Award, the BBC Award, Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar (Sangeet Natak Akademi Award), GIMA, Mirchi Music Award for Best female vocalist and Album and the Aditya Birla Kalakiran Award.
