Kumar Mardur

Kumar Madur is an Indian classical vocalist of Dharwad traditions. He began his training under the guidance of his father, Pandit Somanath Madur, a renowned Hindustani classical vocalist of Kirana and Gwalior Gharana, and continued his training under Dr. Puttaraj Gavai, Dr. Basavaraj Rajguru and Dr. Mallikarjun Mansur. He is currently receiving further guidance under Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar. Mardur has toured extensively in India and abroad and is a recipient of Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, Padma Vibhushan Dr. Mallikarjun Mansur Rashtreeya Yuva Puraskar, Dr. Vasantrao Deshpande Memorial Yuva Kalakar Puraskar, amongst others. He is currently a Junior Guru at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy.
