Mukundraj Deo

Mukundraj Deo is considered to be one of the India’s finest Classical tabla artists of the younger generation. He trained under the guidance of Pandit Brijraj Mishra, disciple of Pandit Sharada Sahai of Banaras Gharana, and Pandit Mridangraj of Ajrada Gharana. He has accompanied maestros such as Natraj Gopikrishna, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Dr. Prabha Atre, Begum Parveen Sultana, Ustad Dilshad Khan, Pandit Jasraj, Pandit C R Vyas, Dr. N Rajam, Ustad Raiskhan, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Pandit Ramnarayan, Pandit Satish Vyas, Rahul Sharma, Pandit Ronu Majumdar, Ashatai Khadilkar, and many others. Deo is an ‘A’ grade artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan. He has been awarded with title ‘Pandit’ by Savarkar Seva Sanstha and was recently awarded with the ‘Pandit Ram Marathe Yuva Kala Puraskar’ by Municipal Corporation of Thane. Deo has participated in many prestigious music festivals in India and overseas, which includes Australia, United Kingdom, Morocco and Seychelles.
