Murad Ali Khan

Murad Ali Khan is regarded as one of the leading Indian sarangi artists of the younger generation. He belongs to the sixth generation of musicians from his family, which includes Ustad Sagheer Ahmed Khan, Ustad Fakir Ahmed Khan, Ustad Rafique Ahmed Khan and Ustad Siddique Ahmed Khan – all renowned sarangi artists, musicologists and gurus of the Moradabad Gharana. Khan began his training under the guidance of his grandfather Ustad Siddique Ahmad Khan and father Ustad Ghulam Sabir Khan. He received accolades for his accompaniment with many noted musicians including Pandit Ravi Shankar. Khan is the recipient of the Aditya Vikram Birla Award, Sarangi Ratna Award, Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar and Sanskriti Award. He has performed in many major music festivals in India and abroad.
